YOU CAN CRACK NET EXAM - How to approach PAPER 1

As the exam approaches and applications submitted the NET fever has gripped many aspirants. I have written a few ways to tackle paper 1.

It is true that NET has evolved and questions are getting unpredictable. But still it possible to clear, if you follow few steps carefully. Some of the greatest mistake done my aspirants is getting carried away by concentrating in English literature and language and making no efforts to score more marks in paper I. It is considered safe if you are good in research methodology, teaching aptitude, logical reasoning and reading comprehension. If a candidate is good in all the topics of paper1 then it gives immense confidence when he attempts the next paper. Time management in paper1 is very crucial as candidates don’t practice enough they tend to waste a lot of time on a single question. A candidate should move to the next question if he thinks that the question which he attends is tough and it would be time consuming. The most important thing is try to get the maximum marks by giving equal importance to all questions, getting to solve one tough question and leaving 2 or 3 easy question is foolishness. The golden rule is if a question appears to be very tough to you then it is tough for all. So instead of trying hard for few minutes and get frustrated it is better to move to the next one and answer it. At the end of the day people who get the maximum mark clear the exam and not the one who solved the toughest question.
There are many guides available in the market so you have to make sure you practice daily. Give equal hours of time to both the paper. If you think that you still have to read a lot for Paper 2. Make sure that you give a minimum of 1 or 2 hours for Paper1. As we all know that Paper 2 is very vast one and needs to mug up lots of facts. Make sure you still have some time for paper1. Most students find it difficult to spend time for paper1 as they consider it as less interesting and boring. Some candidates get annoyed when they find that some of the answers in their Guide book are wrong. So they check in the internet and find it difficult to spend quality time. All most all Guide books available in the market have some minor mistakes, so choose the one that has less mistake and reliable. In reading comprehension though all answers seem to be correct the answer you have to choose must be the very best and the most appropriate one. Paper 2 is interesting when you remember the name of writers, the plots and characters of the novels and plays. It gives satisfaction that you know about a certain writer all his important works, all the plots and names of all characters. But Paper1 would never satisfy you and you won’t feel 100% sure that you know everything, the question paper have some question which demands new methods of solving, the best way is to learn all the patterns and methods of solving, as there is no negative marking one can go for a wild guess. It is important in reading the minds of the question setters. If you cannot answer a question try to solve by reverse engineering try to eliminate 1 or 2 less appropriate options and just make a wild guess with the remaining 2 option. The chances are that you may get a correct answer for a minimum of 3 or 4 questions out of 10 questions you know nothing about. So never leave the hall without attending all the questions. The amount of money and work you spend to clear the exam is total waste if you come leaving few questions unanswered. You have to wait another 6 months or 1 year to appear for the next Exam. So always give your best this attempt rather than consoling yourself that you would make use of all the time and energy and make it to the list in the next attempt. If you are not able to do this time the chances are that you will not do the next time also. Some will never do it in their lifetime. Try to make the best use of every hour you prepare. Always keep practicing previous year question paper, for Paper1 revising previous year is very crucial. Some have cleared the exam only by solving previous year question paper and nothing else. For working professionals try to spend quality time after work, even if you prepare for few hours you can still make it to the top. It’s all about rejections and not selections. To show that 6% are intelligent and NET qualified the remaining 94% have to fail. If you are serious enough and sincerely work then you will find among the 6% or you would have to wait for months or for years. So start preparing systematically, get yourself among a group of like-minded people who would want to crack the exam. Don’t waste your time among useless groups with people who are not serious of making it in this attempt. You will never learn everything related to paper 1 even if you study for 100 years. So know what is important, what is necessary and learn how to deal with it. Also keep in mind that not every who cleared NET have answered all questions correct, they too have answered many questions wrong but were able to get to that top 6%.So  don’t lose heart if paper 1 was tough and a few questions were answered wrong you can make it in paper 2. So start preparing and make sure you give 100% this attempt.
