What to do if I want to clear NET exam?

Hi Friends,
The result of  Net  English was declared on the 2nd of January 2018. Out of approximately 27,000 students who appeared for the exam in the subject of English only 1600 made it to the list. It roughly translates to 6%.  For those who cleared the attempt a big congrats and for those who did not make it lets try one more time.
True the paper was tough when compared to previous years as a result the cut off was low. The question paper focus was on minute details which makes it quite impossible to search it in google and come to a conclusion. Its stress on the importance and need for the students to do more basic reading. If one were to ace the exam comfortably then one has to be thorough with the classics in literature. One should be thorough with British Literature before reading American, Indian and African literature.
If you have missed this time, then start your preparation right now. leave no stone unturned. Begin with the history of English literature read from a good source like David Daiches or Compton Rickett or  William J Long. Again keep in mind these books are written not keeping NET exam in mind. So there are lot of irrelevant things which you can skip. But these things which you consider irrelevant  will sometimes be useful to make a wild guess. So read everything for the first time and mark the important ones and later reread. Once you master the history of english literature then read all the classics. Make use of Spark notes, Cliff Notes, Shmoop and Grade Saver. As per the latest trend you should be not only thorough with the summary but also with important quotes, character lists, and all miscellaneous stuff about that work. Once you complete British Literature then you can read literary terms from MH Abrams, for theories read  Beginning theory by Peter Barry, then move on to Indian, Asian, African and American writers.
True if you are desperate to clear NET exam the universe conspires to make it happen. Keep reading, keep fighting you will surely clear NET.
