King Lear -Story outline:
 King Lear was a king of Britain. He divided his kingdom between his three daughters Goneril, Regan and Cordelia.Cordeila not wanting to be hypocritical said she loved her father as much as required of a daughter. This made King Lear disinherit Cordelia and banish her. Goneril was married to Albany, Regan to Cornwall and Cordelia to Burgundy. The story has a major subplot in which Gloucester was biased more favorably towards his bastard Edmund and suspects his son Edgar. Edmund confuses his father to an extent that he preferred to disown his son. King Lear stayed with Goneril with hundred of his men. But she wanted to bring it down to fifty. He went to Regan for his help. The two daughters joined and came to a conclusion that their father should have no company. The Kent, Gloucester and Edgar disguised as Tom O Bedlam was with him. The Fool is called as Fool and no specific name has been given to him.Gloucester tried to help Cordelia and Edmund conveyed this to Cornwall and he blinded Gloucester's eyes.

Gloucester helped King Lear to escape to Dover signalling signs of war . Cordelia and her men arrived. King Lear was ashamed to meet Cordelia as he banished her, but she readily forgave him.Cornwall died. Regan wanted to marry Edmund. Goneril to harboured a passion towards Edmund. In the battle between French and British troops the French were defeated and Cordelia and King Lear were taken as prisoners.Edmund ordered Cordelia to be hanged There was a Combat between Edgar and Edmund in which Edmund is fatally wounded.Goneril killed herself and poisoned Regan.King Lear died as he realised that Cordelia has died. The play ends with Albany becoming the king and Edgar accepting the title of Earl of Gloucester.
